Slash stops crouching and faces her, "What's wrong?"

Winter looks at him. "I-It was just a bad dream," she says softly.

Slash sits, "Explain."

"I just... had a nightmare that someone was killing you... and you were bleeding everywhere," she says, looking uncomfortable.

Slash holds in a laugh and nods slowly.

Winter snickers when she sees him holding in a laugh.

"Like that'd ever happen," Slash rolls his eyes.

Winter shrugs. "The logical part of our brain is inactive when we sleep. It explains why we believe all these things are real."

Slash nods, "Yeah. Unless you don't allow yourself to dream."

Winter looks up. "You don't dream?" she asks curiously.

(I know it's supposed to be magical that he doesn't dream but I can't keep myself from saying this so: Everybody dreams every night. Most of the time we forget them though. Most dreams occur in REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep, when our entire body locks up except for our eyes. This prevents us from acting out our dreams... Don't be mad at me for saying that.)

Slash nods, "Not once have I had a dream. I rarely sleep either."

Winter sighs. "Well I wish I couldn't dream."

(...Normal ppl dream? And what's insomnia?)

Slash shakes his head, almost with shame, "You really don't. Dreams help keep you mentally stable."

Winter shrugs. "Well they're creepy and most of them are nightmares."

"They show signs of life," Slash straightens himself up, "My end could be near, could be far. Who knows what the future may layout?"

Winter looks at him seriously. "You're not going to die," she says sternly.

Slash stares at her a minute then shakes his head, "We all die."

Winter shrugs. "Not yet," she replies.

"For all we know there may be a cave in. Now sit tight. I'll be back," Slash moves a rock away then puts it back as he trenches into the snow.

Winter watches him go and rolls onto her back.

An hour passes by and Slash stumbles in, blood covering him, mixed with snow. He drops food kn the floor and covers the hole.

Winter looks up. "Are you okay?" she asks curiously.

"F***ing freezing out there," Slash wipes the snow off his fur and starts cooking the meat. Once the snow's gone markings can be found in his back.

Winter looks at the markings. "What happened?"

A moment of brief silence occurs and Slash looks at her, "A tree...scraped me."
