Thunderclan nursery

The area in Thunderclan where the queens and kits are.

Moonkit nestled closer to her mother. Her eyes weren't open yet, but she could already pick out her mother's scent. Her fluffy silver pelt seemed dull in the dim light of the nursery.

Moonkit's brother, Sunkit, scooted closer to her, he purred as he drank milk. His fluffy golden pelt looked brighter than his sister.

Goldenmoon, their mother, purred happily, she loved her kits. They had just been born today but they could already roll around the den mewling. They could also pick her out from all the other queens in the nursery without even seeing her fluffy calico fur. Which wasn't much of an accomplishment since there was only one other cat.

Goldenmoon reached over with a paw and pinned Icekit's tail down playfully. "You can see them as soon as your washed," she mewed.

Sunkit mewled in protest as his mother moved her belly.

Goldenmoon purred too. "Have you heard?" she mewed. "Windclan and Caveclan are fighting over that stupid cave again. Windclan should just give it up! Caveclan lives in the caves, I don't see why they need them when they hate being confined.

Oceanspray stops licking Icekit for a second " Windclan probably just want the few rabbits burrowed around it," she mewed in agreement then licks Icekit again. Icekit bored and really wanting to see the other kits whines " When will I be finished?"He rustles. With a sigh Oceanspray lets him scamper off to see the new kits.

Sunkit was drinking milk from his mothers belly when he heard Icekit coming. He squealed because he wasn't used to having anyone but his mother around him.

Moonkit lifted her head sleepily. She tried to open her eyes towards Icykit but she couldn't. She mewled angrily at the fact that she couldn't see him.

Goldenmoon watched as Icekit came to see the kits. "This one is Moonkit," she pointed to the tiny silver she-cat. "And this one is Sunkit," she pointed to the golden tom.

Rustling sounded outside the nursery and Stonefoot padded in, his feathery tail swishing. "Windclan and Caveclan must be squabbling again," he mewed. "We heard yowling coming from the bord-" he broke off and crouched as a faraway sounding screech ehoed through the trees "er," he finished.

Icekit not paying attention to Stonefoot "Hi Moonkit, Hi Sunkit!" He purred as he greeted them. Oceanspray stretches "Will the two clans ever stop fighting over boundaries?" She mewed sadly.

Stonefoot sighed. "Most likely not. It's just like we fight with Riveclan over sunningrocks. The cave must be valuable if they keep fighting over it."

Sunkit let out a tiny hiss and scooched closer to his mother.
Moonkit purred and moved closer to Icekit. She nuzzled her face in his soft fur, still purring.
Goldenmoon purred and licked Sunkit's head.

Icekit purrs with happiness. Oceanspray "I fear you're right," she shakes her head

Moonkit purred back and curled up near Icekit.
Sunkit sat where he was.
Goldenmoon gazed sadly at Oceanspray. "Yes," she mewed. "They may never stop."

Stonefoot perked his ears and gave a sigh of relief. "They've stopped," he meowed happily. Another warrior called from outside and Stonefoot nuzzled his mate before walking out the door for a hunting patrol.

"For now," Goldenmoon mewed sadly.

Icekit smiles happy that he made a new friend. "I wonder how long it will be before they lash at each other again," Oceanspray worries

Moonkit falls asleep.

Goldenmoon sighs, "I don't know."

Icekit pads over to his mother and goes to sleep. Oceanspray nuzzles Icekit's head "I hope it's not soon, Icekit can't sleep when they fight," the queen mewed sadly.

Moonkit wokes up and squealed.

"OH MY!" Goldenmoon's eyes widened. "She's never done that before!"

Oceanspray seems confused "Icekit has never done that so I can't explain it to you," she mews shaking her head. Icekit has a abrupt awakement after Moonkit squeals and Oceanspray shifts her body "Nnnn," he tries to growl.

Moonkit squealed again, this time louder, she sounded as if she was dying. "AAAAACOOOOOOOOOOT," she wailed.

Sunkit woke up and covered his ears. "NOOO!" he screeched at his sister. "NOO ACAAA!"
Goldenmoon stared at her kits. "Starclan help I'm scared they're dying!"

Oceanspray nervously mews sounding helpless as a kit "should I get the medicine cat?" She stands up causing static to make Icekit's fur fluff up. "Nnnn" Icekit tries to growl again.

"No they don't seem to be hurt. They're just sitting there..." Goldenmoon pointed out.

Moonkit let out a squeal and stood up. She tumbled across the den and crashed into Icekit.

Sunkit stuck out his tongue and went back to sleep.

Icekit purrs with amusement finding it funny "Are you okay?" He mewed. Oceanspray glances at Sunkit and Moonkit "They sure are different from each other," she flattened her fur that frizzed up.

Moonkit purred and nuzzled Icekit. She fell asleep beside him.

Sunkit was still sleeping.

Goldenmoon purred, "I know," she mewed.

Icekit seems relieved that she is okay and also falls asleep. Oceanspray licks her paw "I wonder what it would of been like if the rest of my kits survived," she wonders.

Goldenmoon hung her head. "Yes," she mewed, "I sometimes wander what it would be like if Springkit had survived."

Oceanspray looks at Icekit "I'm just thankful Starclan let him survive," she sent a silent thanks to Starclan.
